Glass etching is a phenomenon that occurs’ with some automatic dish detergents in very soft water environments. Etching typically happens over the course of many washes (50 to 100) and manifests itself initially as an iridescent hue on the glass and later as a heavy film. This iridescent hue and film development is the result of slow chemical etching and is not reversible. Amway scientists have studied this chemistry extensively and formulated this new tablet to not visibly etch glass. For certain types of glass (such as fine crystal), care must be taken to always follow the manufacturer’s wash and care instructions.
Dish Drops Automatic Dishwasher Tablets are formulated to deliver great performance without salt and include a rinse aid for spot-free results.
However, in regions with very hard water (>21dH), we recommend using salt in your dishwasher’s salt compartment and a separate rinse aid, according to the manufacturer's guidelines.
Amway and Dish Drops have a long history of creating safe and environmentally-responsible products. The dishwasher tablets and the dissolvable film around them have been extensive laboratory tested to confirm their safety in the machine and limit their impact on the environment.
